At Chapmanslade Primary School, we aim to inspire and challenge children to think critically about paintings, prints, sculptures and drawings, and give them the tools to do and talk about art.
We value and recognise that art, craft and design shaped our history, contributing to culture and creativity. Art enhances learning across our curriculum, and links particularly to History, Geography, Science and RE. As our children progress through our school, they should be able to delve into a more rigorous understanding of art and design and produce some wonderful pieces.
Our pupils learn about how key events and individuals in design and technology have shaped the world. Through Design and Technology we nurture pupils’ creativity and encourage them to come up with brilliant ideas, and to turn them into a reality, making links with Maths, Science, Computing and Art.
