Personal Development
Personal Development is the development of a pupil's individual skills, attitudes, and understanding, including the development of self-awareness, self-esteem, and emotional intelligence, as well as the development of skills related to communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. The goal of personal development is to help pupils develop into confident and capable individuals who are able to navigate the challenges of modern life.
Personal Development of pupils is core to our curriculum at Chapmanslade and an imperative part of their journey through primary school. We aim is to support children to become good neighbours who are equipped with the knowledge, understanding and skills to manage their lives inside and outside of school not only now, but in the future, whatever they choose to do. We are especially proud of our pupils' personal development at Chapmanslade; each pupil thriving as an individual and as part of our special community.
As a Church School, our Personal Development offer is under-pinned by our school vision and values and is woven through our entire ethos; curriculum offer and approach; Collective Worship; extra-curricular offer; behaviour approach and spiritual development.
