Give thanks for the harvest!
On Friday 3rd October, Chapmanslade celebrated Harvest with their annual Harvest Festival church service.
A jam-packed church full of pupils, family members, staff and clergy members celebrated Harvest with a programme of music, dance, readings, prayer and wonderful singing!
August, Beatrice, Ben and Jeremiah began our service by welcoming parents with autumnal piano pieces, followed by Thomas' electric guitar performance!
We celebrated in song together with the Harvest Hymn (Give Thanks for the Harvest) and We Plough the Fields and Scatter, with the pupils also singing Cauliflowers Fluffy and Conkers! in full spirit. Genevieve and Chudi read Oak's Harvest poem splendidly; Erin, Finley and Penelope read harvest prayers and poems. A particular highlight was Mrs Hobbs' Liturgical Dance Club, who performed a memorable and moving dance to 'I am the Earth.
Several of our pupils also read or performed in the church's Harvest Festival service on the 12th October, making us very proud.
We look forward to our next visit to the church!
