KS2 Join Fairy Queen Opera Project

We have been offered the opportunity for our Key Stage 2 pupils to take part in a performance of the opera ‘The Fairy Queen: Three Wishes’ at the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford-on-Avon. Our pupils will join a children’s chorus of around 150 children to perform alongside the world-class baroque orchestra The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, professional opera singers, and a band of musicians from St Laurence school.

The project kicked off on 18th May when visiting musicians ran a workshop/rehearsal in school. They will visit one more time in Term 6, and on the morning of 30th June we will travel to Bradford-on-Avon for a final rehearsal and performance (all taking place within the school day).

This is a very special chance to work alongside professional musicians, improve our singing technique, explore baroque and modern music together, and experience participating in a full-scale performance. We can't wait!
